U zbirci priča U svetlosti savremena letonska spisateljica Jana Egle donosi potresne, izuzetno precizno napisane pripovesti o nasilju, tišini i traumi, ali i o mogućnosti svetlosti nakon tame. Jezikom koji je istovremeno blag i neumoljiv, Egle gradi portrete žena, dece i porodica u borbi s nasleđem bola, stida i ljubavi.

Svaka priča u ovoj knjizi otvara pukotinu kroz koju dopire svetlost – svetlost sećanja, priznanja, razumevanja. Egle ume da u jednom detalju, u jednom pogledu ili gestu, prikaže čitav život, čitavu istoriju tišine.

Jana Egle (born in 1963) was born and has spent her entire life in what is probably the harshest part of Latvia – Lower Courland. She holds a master’s degree in preschool pedagogy and worked in a kindergarten for more than 30 years. Since the 1990s, she has been writing poetry, but she only began writing prose after the age of fifty. In the Light (Gaismā) is her first book of prose, for which she received the Latvian Literature Award in 2017.
